Rebecca Schiff

Dr. Rebecca Schiff is currently Deputy Provost and Professor of Health Sciences at University of Lethbridge. Dr. Schiff is a trans-disciplinary university scholar and administrator, working across many health and allied disciplines including public health, Indigenous health, psychology, nursing, education, occupational therapy, and social work among others. Dr. Schiff’s research interests cross diverse topics in health equity and sustainability, with a particular focus on rural and northern health and health care. For the past two decades, Dr. Schiff has focused much of her research towards understanding and advocating for solutions to end homelessness in Canada, with particular attention to rural and northern contexts. She has published extensively on rural and remote health and on homelessness. This includes her recent books - Pandemic preparedness and homelessness: International lessons from COVID-19 (CoH Press 2024) and Health and Healthcare in Northern Canada (UofT Press 2022).
